Arkansas's Fourth District Congressman Bruce Westerman is expected to serve as the top Republican on the House Natural Resources Committee in the upcoming 117th Congress. Westerman, an engineer and forester by trade, has shown himself to be a knowledgeable leader on natural resource issues, especially as they relate to forestry. Westerman, a sponsor of legislation to utilize tree plantings to address climate change, has indicated a desire to implement new policy that provides a foundation for market based incentives for landowners to play a role in sequestering greenhouse gases.
