USTR Discusses Trade Agenda with Congress

On March 30th and 31st, the House Ways and Means Committee and Senate Finance Committee hosted hearings that featured U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai who presented the Biden Trade Policy Agenda for 2022. The meetings included discussion on China and the phase 1 agreement as well as other initiatives aimed at expanding or improving export opportunities for the United States. There was substantial interest expressed by members of the committees to seek out new and improved free trade agreements (FTAs), including bilateral agreements with the U.K. and the European Union (EU).
