On Wednesday, May 12, USDA National Agriculture Statistics Service (NASS) issued crop production reports that showed winter wheat production estimated to be up from 2020 but with reduced average yield. USDA also issued cotton production and ginning estimates for 2020, which estimated Arkansas to have produced 1.28 million bales with a crop yielded 1,179 pounds per harvested acre on 520,000 acres. USDA estimates cotton gins in Arkansas to have ginned 1,323,350 running bales in 2020.
