UofA Names Fields New VP of Agriculture

The University of Arkansas System President Donald Bobbitt announced that it has concluded its search for the next Vice President of Agriculture with the selection of Deacue Fields, Ph.D. Dr. Fields will transition from his current role as Dean of the University of Arkansas Bumpers College where he's served since 2017. Dr. Fields brings extensive knowledge and experience in agriculture and education through his education and training as well as having served in a variety of roles across the country in research, education, and extension service.

Dr. Fields will assume the post, which opened last fall with the retirement of Dr. Mark Cochran. The announcement follows a national search effort that led to two internal finalists, which also included Dr. Jean-François (JF) Meullenet who serves as director of the Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station of the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture.
