Ag Council of Arkansas sponsor Mitchell Williams Law recently provided a column in TalkBusiness Arkansas regarding succession planning in Arkansas. The column was presented by attorney Trav Baxter. It spoke to the importance of planning for succession in farming operations, especially for family farms noting lack of such planning as a primary reason for failures in transitions from one generation to the next. In addition to initial planning, the column also called upon families to revisit their plans from time to time in order to adapt to changes within the family, the farm, or public policies impacting such entities.
