September 14 Crop Progress and Condition Report

On Monday, September 14th, the USDA National Agriculture Statistics Service (NASS) issued an updated Crop Progress and Condition Report. The report provides the latest estimates for supply and demand of most major U.S. commodities. According to the report, Arkansas farmers have harvested 44 percent of corn, 24 percent of rice, and 6 percent of soybeans. With regard to crop conditions, most crops are in fair to good condition, with cotton and peanuts being the exception by showing a more positive condition. On the national level, Iowa's crop condition now shows 27 percent of corn and 20 percent of soybeans in poor to very poor condition following the derecho weather system that struck the state in August.
