On Thursday, May 26th, the U.S. Senate Agriculture Committee will host a hearing that will feature Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack. The hearing title is “Opportunities and Challenges Facing Farmers, Families, and Rural Communities”. The hearing is expected to cover a broad range policy matters related to current events and serve as a precursor to the development of the next farm bill and funding priorities for the upcoming fiscal year, which will begin October 1. Senator Boozman (R-AR), who serves as Vice Chairman of the committee, will have opportunities to lead much of the discussion.
