On Thursday, November 11th, Riceland Foods celebrated its 100th year of operation at its annual meeting held in Jonesboro, Arkansas. The event featured keynote speaker Rex Nelson who provided a historical overview of agriculture in Arkansas and rice production in Arkansas. Chairman of the Riceland board of directors, Roger Poehlner, provided an update on the farmer-owned cooperative's search for a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) following the recent retirement of its previous CEO, Danny Kennedy. Interim CEO, Andrew Dallas, provided a financial overview of the company that highlighted annual sales of nearly $1 billion in the most recent crop marketing year. The event also featured an awards ceremony that recognized employees and farmer members.
The cooperative expects to name a new CEO in Spring of 2021 following a national candidate search.
