Plant Board Decides to Stick to May 25th Dicamba Cutoff Date for Arkansas

The Arkansas State Plant Board held its final quarterly meeting for the year 2020 on December 2nd. As part of their meeting, the board took actions to establish dicamba use regulations for the upcoming crop year. The board decided to maintain the May 25th cut-off date for for use of dicamba over the top of dicamba tolerant cotton and soybeans. However, they did maintain a permit program that provides an exception for acres on the unprotected side of the Mississippi River levee. The permit program would now allow for applications consistent with the federal label, which allows limited applications through June 30th for soybeans and July 30th for cotton. Efforts to extend the primary cut-off date were discussed and voted on, but were ultimately defeated despite close votes.
