National Farm Safety and Health Week

The week of September 20-26 marks National Farm Safety and Health Week, the annual weeklong event led by the National Safety Council since 1944, is a public promotion campaign aimed at reminding those engaged in agriculture of the various dangers related to farm work. It is also designed to serve as a directive to encourage farm workers and management to take precautions to mitigate risk of injury and to have a plan in place to care for workers who may become injured on the farm. One such way to ensure the safety and care of agricultural workers in Arkansas is AgComp, a workers compensation self insurer fund organized by members of the Ag Council of Arkansas to provide aid to employers and workers in the event of workplace injuries.
