May 3 Crop Progress & Condition Report

On Monday, May 3rd, USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) issued an updated Crop Progress and Condition Report. According to the report Arkansas farmers have been able to catch up and get ahead of the state's 5yr average with soybean & corn planting. Wet conditions continue to offer challenges for planting in many areas, but corn acres are reported to be 85% planted, soybean acres are reported to be 38% planted, rice 63% planted, peanuts 9% planted, and cotton 7% planted. Winter wheat is reported to be 69% headed.
