May 16 Crop Progress and Condition Report

With the help of sunshine and drier weather, Arkansas farmers were able to make substantial headway in the planting of the 2022 crop according to the May 16 Crop Progress and Condition Report. For most crops, farmers were able to catch up and get ahead of the five-year average of acres planted to date. Corn was considered to be 93 percent planted, rice was considered to be 76 percent planted, soybeans were considered to be 57 percent planted, peanuts were considered to be 51 percent planted, and cotton was considered to be 53 percent planted.
