Longtime Cotton Researcher Robert "Bob" Nichols Passes After Struggle with ALS

Dr. Robert "Bob" Nichols, the recently retired Senior Director of Agricultural and Environmental Research at Cotton Incorporated passed away earlier this month following a battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), aka Lou Gehring's disease. According to his obituary, Dr. Nichols was diagnosed in February of this year and declared 100% disabled in June. He passed on October 7. Nichols 28 year career at Cotton Incorporated included serving as an advisor to the Arkansas State Support program, which supports cotton research in Arkansas.
