House Approves Water Resource Infrastructure Bill

On Wednesday, July 29th, the U.S. House of Representatives approved the 2020 Water Resources Development Act (WRDA), which authorizes funding for water infrastructure projects overseen by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The bill now goes to the U.S. Senate where a similar bill was approved in May by the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee. The House bill carried a significantly larger number of projects and funding relative to the Senate, but Senate bill sponsor John Barrasso has indicated a desire to work with the House on legislation that can reach the president and be signed into law.
