The Historic Dyess Colony heritage site, which is maintained by Arkansas State University (ASU) was featured in the January issue of DTN Progressive Farmer. The site offers a great deal of history into agriculture, American music, and New Deal era programs. The location was part of a Works Progress Administration (WPA) initiative put in place by President Franklin D. Roosevelt to develop a subsistence farming community that happened to house American music icon Johnny Cash in his boyhood years.
The heritage site is open Monday – Saturday from 9:00 A.M – 3:00 P.M. with tours of the house given on the hour
