Governor Makes Rice Month Proclamation

On Tuesday, September 14th, Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson made a proclamation designating September as Arkansas Rice Month. The proclamation highlighted the importance of rice production to Arkansas's economy and the role it plays in feeding the world and providing habitat to migratory fowl and other wildlife. Arkansas has been growing rice for commercial purposes since the early 1900s and is currently the largest rice producing state in the U.S.
