Ford Motor Company Announces Major Investment in Memphis

On September 27th, Ford Motor Company announced plans for a $5.3 billion investment to build a mega-manufacturing facility for batteries and automobiles at the Memphis Regional Supersite just Northeast of Memphis. The location will be the primary facility to produce the popular F-series all-electric trucks. Construction is expected to start at the end of the year with manufacturing beginning in 2025. The site is expected to employ 5,700 people. The economic development announcement is likely to bring substantial economic benefit to Arkansas as the site is built and once it is operational in areas for workforce, building materials, automobile components, and transportation and logistics services among other opportunities.
