EPA Inspector General Directs Agency to do More to Address Endocrine Disruption Risks of Pesticides

On July 28th, the Inspector General (IG) for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued a new report that was critical of the Agency's compliance with federal laws in examining endocrine-disruption risks associated with pesticides the agency is tasked with regulating. The IG recommended 10 steps for the agency to implement in order to address the shortcomings identified. According to the report, the EPA generally agreed with the IG recommendations and provided acceptable corrective actions and estimated completion dates for all ten recommendations.
