With a looming fiscal cliff scheduled to be reached December 11th with the expiration of the continuing resolution (CR) for fiscal year 2021 funding of the federal government, the race is on to reach an agreement on spending. In addition to the normal fiscal year funding, members of the House and Senate are also seeking agreement on COVID-19 related economic aid. Such a deal requires bipartisan and bicameral agreement and sign-off from President Trump. On Thursday, President Trump indicated a willingness to sign a deal produced by the House and Senate. Details continue to be negotiated in the waning hours of the CR and the 116th Congress.
