Congress Sends FY22 Spending Bill to Biden

On March 10th, congress finally finished work on funding for fiscal year 2022 with the passage of a $1.5 trillion spending bill that will fund the operations of the federal government through September. The comprehensive measure includes $14 billion in new aid for Ukraine and represents a 7 percent increase in non-defense spending and a 6 percent increase in defense spending when compared with the fiscal year 2021 levels.
