The National Ag Law Center will host a webinar on October 20th to consider state and federal laws related to foreign ownership of farmland in the United States. In recent years, this issue has come more into focus both at the state level and federal level, especially as foreign interest in farmland and American agriculture has increased in recent years as have potential foreign threats to both. During the last legislative session of the Arkansas General Assembly earlier this year, a new law was enacted to change the current laws related to mandatory reporting of foreign ownership. Reporting is required by USDA and various states, including Arkansas.
The webinar will be held at 11am on October 20th.
