Several agricultural groups across the country, including the Agricultural Council of Arkansas, joined a letter to members of the U.S. House and Senate expressing opposition to a recently introduced bill known as the Protect America’s Children from Toxic Pesticides Act of 2020 (H.R. 7940, S. 4406). This bill proposes sweeping changes to existing federal laws and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations governing certain pesticide products used in agriculture, including the outright elimination of certain products that are currently deemed safe and widely utilized among farmers.
