On Tuesday, June 16th, many agricultural groups submitted a letter to President Trump urging an adherence to the "Phase 1" trade deal with China in order to maintain and expand upon trade of agricultural commodities to China. The letter praised the President's negotiations that led to the agreement and acknowledged that China was failing to meet its commitment, however, the letter warned that abandoning the deal would have significant negative consequences. It also highlighted the benefits of the deal to date and expressed optimism for continued future benefits by keeping the deal active.
