$125 Million in New Broadband Spending Approved by Arkansas Legislative Panel

On Tuesday, November 16th, an Arkansas legislative panel approved the use of $125 million in federal American Rescue Plan funds to be used for rural broadband projects. The funds will go towards 32 projects that were recommended by the Department of Commerce's Arkansas Rural Connect Program, which has now awarded 132 projects with over $275 million in federal funding from the American Rescue Plan Act and the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act. Additional projects are expected as federal funding continues to support broadband infrastructure.
