Westerman Reintroduces Trillion Trees Act

Arkansas Fourth District Congressman Bruce Westerman, the Ranking Member of the House Committee on Natural Resources, announced the reintroduction of the Trillion Trees Act. The bill proposes to support a global effort for the world to plant a trillion trees by 2050, which is estimated to double the number of trees in the world and store 400 gigatons of carbon. The legislation was part of a broader Earth Day unveiling of climate policy proposals by House Republicans led by principle leaders of various committees in the U.S. House. The House Republican climate proposals include more than 30 bills aimed at increasing innovation, modernizing energy infrastructure and promoting natural climate solutions.
