Vilsack Said to be Biden's Choice for Secretary of Agriculture

Former U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Secretary Tom Vilsack is reported to be President-elect Joe Biden's choice to serve as Secretary of Agriculture. Vilsack served as Secretary of Agriculture under president Obama for both presidential terms. Vilsack is not expected to face significant challenges in being approved by the U.S. Senate for the post. Prior to serving in the Obama Administration, Vilsack served as Governor of Iowa. He will depart his current post as Chair of the U.S. Dairy Export Council on his way to joining the Biden administration.
