On February 17, the USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) issued a hemp production report for the United States. According to the report, the value of 2021 hemp production in the open and under protection for the United States totaled $824 million. Planted area totaled 54.2 thousand acres while area harvested totaled 33.5 thousand acres. USDA estimates Arkansas had 280 acres planted and 190 acres harvested.
