On July 21, the USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) issued an updated Catfish Production report. According to the report, U.S. catfish production continues to contract. Nationally, water surface acres were down 5 percent year over year in the three major producing States (Alabama, Arkansas, and Mississippi). Foodsize inventories were similarly down by 5 percent.
