USDA Issues Crop Values Report

On Tuesday, February 22, USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) issued Crop Values reports for Arkansas and the United States. According to the report, the value of production for field crops in Arkansas during 2021 totaled $4.98 billion, up 18 percent from 2020. The top three crop commodities, soybeans, rice, and corn, accounted for 81 percent of the total value of production for field crops. Winter wheat showed the largest percentage increase at 145 percent in value of production from last year. Rice in Arkansas showed the largest decrease from 2020 at 7 percent.

At the national level, the value of production for field crops was up 23 percent, at $201 billion, from 2020. Corn, at $82.6 billion, was the leading field crop followed by soybeans at $57.5 billion and all hay at $19.3 billion.
