USDA Issues 2020 Cotton Varieties Planted Report

On October 5th, the USDA Agriculture Marketing Service (AMS) issued its annual Cotton Varieties Planted Report, which estimates acreage planted by seed. According to the report, Deltapine brand of Upland cottonseed was the most popular planted in the U.S. this year accounting for an estimated 36.9 percent of acres. It accounted for about 65.4 percent in the Mid-South. Second in the Mid-South was Americot varieties with 13.7 percent, and third was Phytogen brand varieties at 11.9 percent. BASF-Stoneville and BASF-Fibermax were ranked fourth and fifth respectively.
