The University of Arkansas System's Division of Agriculture released an updated Economic Contribution Report for Arkansas agriculture. The report offers an overview of agriculture's economic impact to the state and compares Arkansas's state ranking by commodity grown. According to the report, Arkansas ranks in the top 10 among states for several commodities and the industry as a whole provides $21 billion in added economic value to Arkansas. The industry is comprised of roughly 42,000 farms, and the industry directly or indirectly supports at least 268,000 Arkansas jobs.
