UofA Establishes New Forestry & Wildlife Research Program with Private Partner

The University of Arkansas System's Division of Agriculture and the University of Arkansas at Monticello jointly announced the establishment of a new Research and Education Center for Forestry and Wildlife named the Five Oaks Ag Research and Education Center made possible with a gift from former Ag Council of Arkansas president George Dunklin, Jr., a preeminent leader in wildlife conservation and habitat restoration. The new center, a public charity will conduct much of its research and education on Dunklin's Five Oaks property. The new center will offer a new graduate certificate program in conservation, property and land management.

A primary goal of the new center is to expand knowledge in the area of wetland systems processes and influences on mallard population dynamics and to better educate private land managers and facilitate best land management decisions on private and public lands.
