On September 16th, the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture announced the promotion of Dr. Ron Rainey to serve as Assistant Vice President for the Division of Agriculture. Rainey, a professor and extension economist, will now serve as assistant head of the agricultural economics and agribusiness department where he will develop ways to enable the Division to meet diversity and inclusion goals, promote growth in value-added industries, and look to improve access to high speed internet and resources for rural entrepreneurship.
Rainey will continue in his current role as director of the Southern Risk Management Education Center, which serves 13 southeastern states as well as Puerto Rico and the U.S Virgin Islands.
