The University of Arkansas recently announced that it would receive a $10 million gift from Ed and Michelle Fryar and the Fryar Family Charitable Foundation to support agriculture learning at the Bumpers School of Agriculture and the Division of Agriculture. The focus of the education aimed at students and industry participants in the area of price risk management strategies in grain, financial, energy and livestock markets. Ed Fryar, a graduate and retired professor of the University of Arkansas, currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the University System. He's had several successful ventures in agriculture, including most recently Ozark Mountain Poultry, which was sold to George's Inc. in 2018. He was inducted into the Arkansas Agriculture Hall of Fame in 2019.
