U.S. Senate Holds First Farm Bill Hearing in Michigan

On April 29th, the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry held its first farm bill hearing in Michigan, the home state of Committee Chairwoman Debbie Stabenow (D-MI). A second farm bill hearing is expected take place later this summer in Arkansas, the home state of Vice Chairman of the Committee, Senator John Boozman. The hearings are designed to hear from a range of industry stakeholders to consider the wide range of issues addressed in the farm bill. The current farm bill is scheduled to expire after the 2023 crop year and is set to be reauthorized next year in the new Congress.
