On Wednesday, November 3rd, the U.S. House Agriculture Committee held a hearing to consider various supply chain issues impacting the agriculture sector. The hearing featured a variety of witnesses who discussed issues impacting the production, processing and marketing of food and agriculture products. Since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, economic supply chains domestically and internationally have faced severe strains from a range of points at a time when commerce was already at a point of significant strain. Rebalancing the chain of commerce and improving supply chain efficiencies is expected to take considerable time and require additional policies and infrastructure investments.
