On Monday, June 27th, the U.S. Supreme Court denied consideration of a second petition from Monsanto seeking a review of a 9th Circuit Court of Appeals decision that found the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA), which governs our nation's pesticide law, does not preempt state-law relating to warnings for potential cancer risks, despite other federal government findings that determine a product is non-carcinogenic and safe to use according to FIFRA labeled uses. The Supreme Court also denied consideration of a similar petition in another case on June 21st.
