Several National Ag Groups File Brief with Supreme Court on WOTUS

Several national agriculture groups joined in an amicus brief filed with the United States Supreme Court seeking a favorable ruling that would narrow the scope of the Clean Water Act and overturn efforts of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under the Biden administration to deliver a broad reaching policy for regulating water. The letter was signed by groups including American Farm Bureau, the National Cotton Council, the American Soybean Association, National Corn Growers, USA Rice, and National Council of Farmer Cooperatives.

The Supreme Court earlier this year agreed to consider this issue in a case appealing a 9th Circuit ruling. The more conservative Supreme Court agreed to take up the case despite objections from the EPA and the agency's ongoing efforts to complete work on a new set of WOTUS regulations.
