On Monday, July 27th, Republican leaders in the US Senate unveiled their COVID-19 relief package. The $1 trilllion plan includes $20 billion in additional funding for the Commodity Credit Corporation (CCC) for supplemental direct farm aid. The package will still have to be negotiated with the Democratic led House of Representatives, which has a $3 trillion plan. However, the differences between the two bodies related to farm aid appear to be minimal at this stage in the negotiating process.
Senator Boozman continues to play a key role in the negotiations as a member of both the Agriculture Committee and the Appropriations Committee.
