Senate Packaging More COVID-19 Aid

While the U.S. Senate is in a two week recess following the Fourth of July holiday, work is still underway as it relates to the development of a Senate aid package for the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Likely to be included in such a package is additional funding for the USDA's Commodity Credit Corporation (CCC) that would allow Secretary Perdue to develop tailored policies that directly address the economic needs of the agriculture sector. While the concept of enhancing funding to the CCC for additional agricultural related aid is mutually agreed upon by the House and the Senate, specifics of how those funds may be used are not quite in full agreements between the two legislative bodies.
