Senate Finance Committee Holds Hearing on Tax Policy Related to Infrastructure and Climate

On Tuesday, April 27th, the U.S. Senate Finance Committee held a hearing titled, “Climate Challenges: The Tax Code’s Role in Creating American Jobs, Achieving Energy Independence, and Providing Consumers with Affordable, Clean Energy.” The committee discussed a wide range of tax policies and tax policy proposals under consideration as it relates to efforts to address climate, energy production, and infrastructure. While much of the discussion was tied to expanding tax incentives, there were also discussions on proposals to roll back existing incentives or to increase tax collections for affording new policy proposals on climate, energy, and infrastructure.
