On Thursday, February 25th, the U.S. Senate Finance Committee held a nomination hearing for Katherine Tai, the nominee to serve as Trade Representative for the United States. The position represents the chief trade negotiator for the United States. Tai, born in Connecticut, is the daughter of immigrants from Taiwan. She most recently served as chief trade counsel for the House Ways and Means Committee and has served as counsel to the office of the U.S. Trade Representative. She is a graduate of Yale University and Harvard Law.
