Renewable Fuels Association Frustrated by EPA's Waivers to Oil Companies

The Renewable Fuels Association (RFA) and other corn and ethanol advocacy groups expressed strong opposition to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for considering additional small refinery waivers for oil companies in the United States. The U.S. ethanol industry, which represents about 40 percent of U.S. corn demand has been struggling as ethanol demand has crashed due to the ongoing pandemic, which has slowed fuel consumption for vehicles. Many plants have idled or shut down due to the ongoing crisis.
