Negotiations Continue on Next Round of COVID Aid

Tense and often confusing negotiations on additional COVID-19 aid are still ongoing in Washington, but the various participants in the negotiations have yet to break the impasse. The House, Senate and White House are all in agreement that an aid package is needed to continue assistance to communities, businesses and citizens impacted by COVID, but agreement on the contents of such a package remains out of reach. Most economists estimate that a failure to provide aid would lead to another deep dive on unemployment and cause more businesses to shudder. With an election less than a month away, it's not clear what the near term forecast is for the passage of an additional aid package.
