On Tuesday, April 5th, a group of nearly 100 republican House members sent a letter to President Biden urging action towards lowering the cost of fertilizer for American farmers. The letter offered some specific recommendations, including utilization of existing USDA authority under the food supply chain and pandemic response resources to provide support for farmers facing financial difficulties. In March, USDA announced plans to invest $250 million in a grant program for expanded fertilizer production.
