May 2 Crop Progress Report

On Monday, May 2nd, USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) issued an updated Crop Progress Report. According to the report, Arkansas farmers made significant headway in catching up on planting with more days suitable for field work. Soil moisture and rain events continue to impact planting progress, especially for rice, which is estimated to be 40 percent planted, which is behind the five-year average of 59 percent planted by this date.
