March 31 Prospective Plantings Report

On Wednesday, March 31st, USDA issued its 2021 Prospective Plantings Report. According to the report, USDA estimates for Arkansas the following for 2021: Soybean 3M acres; Rice 1.13M acres; Corn 700K acres; Cotton 490K acres; Peanuts 45K acres; Winter Wheat 190K acres. With regard to U.S. acres, USDA projects increases in soybean acres, corn acres, and wheat acres, and decreases in rice and cotton. For corn and soybeans, USDA projects an increase of 5% for soybeans year over year and less than 1% for corn from 2020 while cotton acres are projected to be down less than 1% from 2020..
