Legal Challenges to Recent EPA Pesticide Decisions Starts with Chlorpyrifos

Recent decisions by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regarding crop production products has created great frustration for farmers and the U.S. agriculture industry. The frustration has led to legal challenges against the EPA by U.S. agriculture industry groups, with the first focusing on chlorpyrifos, which was scheduled to be prohibited from us in foods due to human health concerns. The groups suing claim that EPA ignored science and data that support the safe use of the product, which has been widely used since 1965. They hope for a court to file an injunction against the EPAs decision to take chlorpyrifos away from farmers.
