Kansas City Southern Make Deal to Combine with Canada Pacific Railway

Canadian Pacific Railway announced a joint agreement with Kansas City Southern for Canadian Pacific Railway to aqcuire Kansas City Southern in a $25 billion stock and cash deal. The combination, if approved by the U.S. Surface Transportation Board (STB), will create the first rail network linking the U.S., Mexico and Canada. While Kansas City Southern does not have infrastructure in East Arkansas, there is a corridor that runs through West Arkansas, and their North/South network does provide access to Mexico, Canada, and the U.S. gulf coast for exports.
