Hurricane Laura Strikes Arkansas

Hurricane Laura, which struck the Louisiana coast as a powerful category 4 hurricane, rolled into and through Arkansas Thursday afternoon and into Friday. Upon entering Arkansas, the storm remained at hurricane strength before weakening. The storm brought strong winds, several tornadoes, heavy rainfall and flash flooding at a time when farmers were just beginning to harvest crops throughout the state. Prior to the storm, USDA projected a bumper crop for most commodities in Arkansas.
